ASTI Schoolwide Announcements

RISE Theme for November& December is EMPATHY: “If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.” Brene Brown

Go Green Tip: Your computer may go to sleep, but it's still sucking up energy. Turn your computer and monitor off at the end of the day.

Awards Night: Tonight at 6pm in the F Building on the COA campus.  Please bring an appetizer to share for the PTSA potluck.

Lime Bikes: ASTI students may not ride Lime Bikes around campus during classes. ALL ASTI students riding Lime Bikes around campus at lunch or before/after school must have helmets & park the bike responsibly when done riding (do not block sidewalks, roadways or disabled access).

The TOY DRIVE is now in full swing, and we’re trying something new this year. In previous years, we’ve struggled to fill the box with toys.  This year, we’d like to try an idea that Ms. Krasky came up with. If you’d like to help fill the box but are too busy to shop, we have a cash donations jar for toys in the office.  Stop by and drop in some money and we will use it to buy toys for the box. If we collect $1 per student then we will be able to buy a generous donation of toys for the box.  Of course, you can also bring in new unwrapped toys for the box. Please donate what you can!

As Thanksgiving and the winter holidays are approaching, ASTI's annual food drive is taking place! Donate any of your canned food to help the Alameda Food Bank satisfy the increased amount of food for the holidays! You can donate any type of non-perishable such as dried pasta, canned beans, cake mix, and etc. Also, please do not donate any expired food! As a reward for your generosity, the class that brings in the most amount of food will be awarded a hot chocolate party with desserts! So start filling up those food barrels! Food Barrels are located in:

Seniors: Mr. Rod's Room
Juniors: Ms. McCoy's Room
Sophomores: Ms. Ali's Room

Freshmen: Ms. Campbell's Room

The Lit(erature) club is pleased to announce ASTI's first NaNoWriMo, which stands for National Novel Writing month where students attempt to write a novel, screen play, or just write everyday in the month of November. Come every Monday in Ms. Campbell's room and join us for snacks, presentations, and writing sprints. The person who writes the most words by the end of the month will win a fun prize!  So remember that November is not only important for UC and CSU apps, but also NaNoWriMo! See you there!

ASTI Prom now has a GoFundMe! If you can donate any amount you can help us by using the link: It will also help tremendously if you can share this to your family, friends, and people you know. Any questions can be answered by Yongqi Kuang.
